English Poetry Project

"Just Smile" is a original poem wrote by myself and the purpose of the poem is to tell both adults and children that nothing is that bad, "Don't cry for small things, enjoy what our life brings" as mentioned in the poem.

I bought cardboard from staples an cut them into rectangles, then I covered each piece cardboard with a piece of neon paper to make them stand out. Next I printed out the poems and glued it on the cardboard and taped a lollipop beside it, and I also bought sticks to decorate.

I asked my friends to share my poem on some Chinese apps so my poem can go more internationally. The result turns out to be well, many people in China read my poem as well.

An other method that I used to share my poem was that I bought glitter chalk from staples and wrote my poem by changing a color each line outside my apartment building

I drew arrows that can lead the passengers to my poem and left "Just Smile" everywhere. Not only to spread my poem around but also to tell everybody don't forget to smile.

I also went to Granville Island to volunteer in the children' s festival along with Chloe, and there were many people. When I handed out the poem, many people asked if they could keep the poem, and share it with other family members at home.

To make the process of handing out poems more interesting, I have created white boards that doesn't have a lollipop beside it, and the objective of this small game is to decorate the poem with stickers and pencil crayons of their own, and whoever finished decorating and reading first, gets an lollipop. I had two lollipops, but I only told them there will only be one, because I also wanted them to learn how to share.

Over all, it was a fun experience, thanks to those of you who read my poem :)
